Donations to Deliveries: iHave iNeed’s Summer Triumphs!
As the summer months draw to a close, we’re excited to share some heartwarming updates from our organization. Together, we continue to forge ahead on our mission to provide essential goods, promote sustainable practices, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
Welcoming New Charity Partners
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with three incredible organizations:
- Turning Point (https://www.facebook.com/turningpointlv/) offers a safe haven for survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse and their children, providing refuge and support.
- The Sanctuary at Haafsville (https://www.thesanctuarypa.org/) provides a nurturing environment for animals in need.
- The Kindness Project (https://mykindnessproject.org/) supports foster families across eastern Pennsylvania by supplying essential items such as clothing, shoes, car seats, beds, and more.
Fighting Waste, Helping Communities in Need
In the months of July and August, we continued our commitment to reducing waste and supporting local communities. Thanks to your contributions and our dedicated volunteers, we rescued and delivered over 2,000 pounds of food to various local charities. Big shout-out to Back Home Bagels for donating over 700 pounds of bagels and Egypt Star Bakery for donating 450 pounds of bread and pastries.
The logistical details of our partnership with Amazon were ironed out. Our initial pickup of 480 pairs of shoes from Amazon Warehouse ABE3 went super smooth! All but a handful of boxes have already been placed with some of our charity partners… We’re ready for our next shipment! Special thanks to Giselle, Jhonny, Nick, and the dedicated team at ABE3.
Continued Generosity and Support
Our friends at Earth Breeze (www.earthbreeze.com) continue to generously donate their environmentally responsive laundry detergent sheets, which we distribute to our dedicated volunteers and charities in need. If you’re not familiar with them, please check them out!
We’re also thrilled to maintain our partnership with Via of the Lehigh Valley, who continue to make pickups from Wawa and Egypt Star Bakery possible each and every Friday.
Lending a Helping Hand
Our efforts to give back extended beyond food. We donated used towels and blankets, along with Earth Breeze products, to The Sanctuary at Haafsville. Additionally, 21 bags of used clothing and accessories were donated to the Parkland Football Booster Club fundraiser, highlighting the power of collaboration within our community.
Steadfast Fundraising
On the fundraising front, we continue to await the results of grant applications we’ve submitted. Additional grant applications are in the hopper!
We extend our gratitude to one of our favorite supporters who recently celebrated their birthday by encouraging guests to donate to iHave iNeed in lieu of receiving gifts. So thoughtful!
Furthermore, we’d like to express our heartfelt thanks to State Farm Insurance (Frank Armetta) or their generous monetary contribution, which aids in covering transportation and supply costs that are essential to our operations.
