Join the Board of iHave iNeed and Put Your Skills to Work for Good
iHave iNeed is a growing, 3½ year-old nonprofit and we’re looking for passionate, thoughtful leaders to join our Board of Directors.
Our mission is simple and powerful: provide essential goods to those in need while reducing business waste and promoting sustainable practices. We connect surplus resources with people who need them most, strengthening communities and reducing environmental impact at the same time.
To support our next chapter, we are seeking board members with diverse perspectives and expertise especially in:
- Finance & Accounting – budgeting, financial oversight, audits, nonprofit reporting
- Legal – governance, compliance, contracts, risk management
- Business Development & Partnerships – relationship-building, fundraising, growth strategy
- Community Leadership – deep local ties, lived experience, and a strong connection to the communities we serve
You only need to check one of those boxes! We value different kinds of expertise, backgrounds, and lived experiences and we’re committed to building a board that reflects the community at the heart of our work.
What You’ll Do
- Help guide the organization’s strategy, growth, and long-term sustainability
- Serve as an ambassador in your networks and community
- Contribute your expertise through board and committee work
- Support fundraising and partnership development in ways that fit your strengths
- Stay connected to our mission through occasional hands-on volunteering
What to Expect
- 4–6 board meetings per year
- Committee or working group involvement
- Approximately 5–8 hours per month
- Initial 2-year term (with potential renewal)
This is a working, engaged board, one that not only governs, but stays connected to the real-world impact of our mission.
Why Join?
Because your skills – whether in finance, law, business, or community leadership – can directly help get essential goods into the hands of people who need them. This is a chance to make a tangible, local impact while helping build a more sustainable and equitable system.
