April 2023 Update

We’re delighted to share our April 2023 status update with you! This month has been packed with exciting events, valuable partnerships, and growth in our operations and volunteer base. As always, we’re incredibly grateful for your support as we continue to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Here’s a summary of our recent activities and accomplishments:

Events

1. Earth Day at Schnecksville Elementary: We collected over 3,500 books during our Earth Day event, which were then delivered to Allentown Rescue Mission, Cops-n-Kids, and other deserving charities.

2. Race Events: At the St. Luke’s Half Marathon, Brew to Brew 10K, and Radsport Forever Farm MTB & Trail Run, we collected over 100 long sleeve and short sleeve shirts and jackets.

3. Nonprofit Business Partner Collaboration Conference: We attended this conference hosted by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, where we connected with other nonprofits and sponsoring companies, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Boys and Girls Club, Kids Peace, the Kindness Project, North Penn Legal services, Second Harvest Food Bank, Bethlehem Area School District, United Friends School, and Valley Youth House.

Partnerships

4. Costco and Amazon Partnership: We’re excited to announce our partnership with Costco and Amazon, through which we will collect unsellable items.

5. CVS, Target, and Aldi Partnership Talks: We are currently in discussions with CVS, Target, and Aldi to establish partnerships for collecting unsellable items.

6. Earth Breeze Partnership: We have partnered with Earth Breeze, liquidless laundry detergent. They provide their product for distribution to our charity partners and for use by our volunteers.

7. Race Director Partnerships: We have joined forces with local race directors Lehigh Valley Road Runners and Run Lehigh Valley to collect excess swag and left-behind clothing.

8. Food Donation Connection Partnership: We have teamed up with Food Donation Connection to collect and deliver food from companies such as Wawa and various chain restaurants.

9. Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Membership: We are now proud members of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

10. NextDoor.com Engagement: We have joined NextDoor.com to engage with and better serve our local community.

Operations

11. GoFundMe Charity Application: We have applied for GoFundMe Charity status to further expand our fundraising opportunities.

12. Salesforce Adoption: We are now using Salesforce to manage our business partners, donors, and volunteers.

13. Google Workspace Nonprofit Discount: We have secured a nonprofit discount (FREE) for Google Workspace, enhancing our team’s collaboration and productivity.

14. Trello Nonprofit Discount: We have obtained a nonprofit discount for Trello, our project management tool.

15. Buffer Nonprofit Discount: We have received a nonprofit discount for Buffer, our social media management tool.

Volunteers

16. Volunteer Network of the Lehigh Valley: We have joined the Volunteer Network of the Lehigh Valley to strengthen our volunteer recruitment efforts.

17. Volunteering Opportunities on Website: We have added a Volunteering Opportunities section to our website to make it easier for individuals to join our cause.

18. Growing Volunteer Database: Our volunteer database has grown to over 50 individuals, a testament to our growing impact and the dedication of our community.
